When tenants inevitably come to us with trouble paying their rent, our first response (after sympathy) will be to direct them to Centrelink to see what benefits they are entitled to in terms of rent relief.
We realise that banks have offered a 6 month reprieve for mortgage payments, however, this money will need to be paid back after the 6 months and as such, we would like tenants to explore all other options before going down that path.
