Providing local community support at Surfest Newcastle and across the Hunter

Outside of being Newcastle’s premier property buyer’s agent, we are a team who are passionate about providing local community support, particularly in the sporting space. It is this passion that has driven the team to look into ways to provide local community support for a variety of organisations in the Hunter, like Surfest Newcastle.

Property Solutions 101 backs the local community

Kylie and our team are especially passionate about supporting women in sport.

One of the recent sporting events we sponsored was the 2023 Surfest Newcastle Legends Expression Session.

We have been crowdfunding sponsors for Surfest Newcastle since the initiative began, so when the opportunity arose to be a part of their first ever Legends Expression Session, we jumped on it!

We also aim to continuously support a range of other local sporting organisations. One way we provided this support was through our Female Athlete Education Evening.

Through collaboration with four other local businesses, three elite female athletes from various sporting backgrounds spoke about what they have learnt about teamwork and team values in sport.

This event was developed with female high school students in mind, with the sole purpose of helping young female athletes and their supporters to understand the importance of teamwork and team values.

Other community organisations we have been providing local community support for over the years includes the Hunter Academy of Sports AFL Women’s Program, Sam Poolman Netball Clinics, the Dudley Football Club and Lake Macquarie Speedboat Crowdfunding – just to name a few!

What is the Surfest Newcastle Legends Expression Session?

The World-First Legends Expression Session saw four retired legends of surfing share their stories and hit the waves again to showcase that even after retirement, they’ve still got it.

One such legend is Jodie Cooper, a former professional surfer and title winner who also appeared in the movie, Girls Can’t Surf.

Each of the event sponsors was allocated a legendary surfer to champion. We were delighted to be nominated Jodie!

Jodie is a surf enthusiast and began surfing at a young age, making a name for herself in the surfing world. She has competed globally and has won several titles throughout her career.

Jodie Cooper remains committed to contributing to the surfing community in her retirement, including promoting the sport and working as a surf coach, inspiring the upcoming surfers of the new generation through her own local community support.

Pam Burridge, Pauline Menczer, and Rebecca Woods also shared their stories at Surfest Newcastle Legends Expression and of course, we cheered for them too!

These passionate surfing legends are all continually contributing to the surfing community, despite being retired from the sport.
