New #PS101Challenge champion after tough three-way tiebreaker

Hunter-based businesses faced off for the ultimate Corporate Shoot Out, for a good cause, at our third PS101 Challenge on 10 December at Sports Parc in Cooks Hill.

Challenged to test their golf swing, soccer penalty skills, ring toss accuracy and basketball three-pointers, the businesses battled it out to discover who would take over bragging rights of being the PS101 Challenge winner for the next 12 months … an important and highly sought-after title.

Our competitors all gathered to contribute to a worthwhile cause – supporting Harry’s House that provides assistance to families that have a child living with cancer and for those who are grieving the loss of a child due to cancer. Together we raised $7,500 that will go towards providing housing for 52 families, including emergency housing, hospice or a getaway at the family retreat at Stockton.

Teams in the challenge were made up of a maximum of four people (but confident sportspeople went it alone) and had the opportunity to participate five times in four sports.

After a grueling three-way tie, a blindfolded round determined this year’s winner – Quarry Mining walked away with the well-deserved trophy for their exceptional performance on all four sports. Well done to the three athletes at the event.

Again, Property Solutions 101 entered our team of ace performers, but unfortunately came a little short of our winning goal. We put that down to an injury that befell our Director and Buyer’s Agent, Kylie Frearson, off the field the night before the big day (that will teach her to redirect her competitive streak where it counts).

Co-founder of Harry’s House, Samantha Meyn said it was an amazing day and the organisation is so appreciative of all the businesses who took part in this year’s PS101 Challenge.

“We are so thrilled that a local business, such as Property Solutions 101, were eager to raise money for our small organisation,” Samantha said.

“Any donation, big or small, helps us to go the extra length and provide for those who are undergoing the hardships that come with cancer. So, we encourage this sort of participation and thank all those who got involved.”

A big thank you to the below businesses for being a part of this year’s challenge. Keep an eye out for our 2020 challenge, set to be even bigger and better. At least we can take out the award for taking it up a notch each challenge!
