We’ve been banging on about why Newcastle is such a great place to invest for years – everyone who lives here already know it’s a great place to live!
From kilometres of pristine beaches, beautiful Lake Macquarie and proximity to Hunter Valley vineyards, we’ve certainly got lifestyle covered. Newcastle is also a lot more affordable than capital cities and has way less traffic congestion.
From an investment perspective, Newcastle is an equally appealing option. As previously mentioned, it has lower property prices that capital cities, but returns better yields, overall averaging around 3-4% gross.
The region has seen hundreds of millions of dollars invested in infrastructure over the past few years which has helped create a very solid economy with equally strong employment. Diversity is the key to that strength. Newcastle has the world’s largest coal port, has a world class university and The John Hunter Hospital, which is one of the largest Public hospitals in Australia, a key teaching hospital and a tertiary referral centre.
Newcastle Airport at Williamtown, thirty minutes from the CBD, has plans in place to expand and upgrade the international passenger terminal, creating greater global connectivity. Williamtown has been named as a Special Activation Precinct which is home to an RAAF base and a new Aerospace Centre.
